Welcome Back from the Chinese New Year Everybody! I hope you guys had a great one!
It's gonna be the year of the Rat and I'm pretty sure this year's gonna be a great one!
So this week, the topic we are gonna broach is knowing your goals!
Knowing Your Goals
Most people assume that their body weight is the key determining factor when it comes to being healthy, this is only 60% true. There's all the other stuff that goes on in your body like how much of your weight is actually important vs how much weight is not.(sort of like understanding history classes) Then, comes the understanding that the dynamics in your body weight doesn't stop there but keeps changing according to time, the sleep you had or even the amount of stress you're going through, like those staircases in Harry Potter

| OMG, that's the 4th time I'm gonna have to stair all over again today |
This causes much confusion and frustration in people, especially when it seems that you're on the right track and suddenly your weight just completely stops going down, or in some cases even going up. Just like how we showed in the first week, body weight is not really related to body shape at all
That's why it's important to know that there are other things more important than just body weight when we talk about goals!
So what else can we talk about?
.
Here are some sample Goals:

Here are some sample Goals:
- Body Fat Percentage
- Body Shape
- Muscle Mass
- Strength/Agility
- Endurance/Stamina
I like to split them into 2 main types Body Composition Goals and Body Movement Goals
Body Composition Goals
Body Composition Goals
Body Composition Goals are Goals that include Body Fat Percentage, Body Weight, Muscle Mass, and even Body Shape!
These goals target a specific Shape or physical attribute that you would like to achieve, these usually are tied to very tangible visual aspects of a person's body like reduction in pants sizes, or even the size of one's Biceps

Setting these goals are quite straightforward, and usually the motivation behind them are also equally straightforward. However in the process of attempting to achieve these goals, please make sure to truly understand what you're aiming for so that you can get the best result that you desire!
Body Movement Goals
Body Movement Goals are Goals that includes Strength, Agility, Endurance or Stamina.
These goals usually are more advanced compared to the Body Composition ones, and are usually targeted by people who have certain fitness or mobility criteria in mind!
People who target these goals usually have a physical quest in mind, either they would like to achieve a certain level of bodily mobility, overcome a certain event, or even just want to be able to lift their kids in the air. These goals are more functional and also would at the same time assist in achieving the above Body Composition Goals too!
Training these Goals would include longer training times and functional training which are gives the body not only better physique but also better posturing and health, only drawback is that they seem to require longer reps

So which should you choose? And which would be better for you?
It all depends on what you would wish to achieve through your exercises and nutritional supplementation, personally it's best to choose a target that means something to you and go for it! That way you'd have more fun achieving the milestones as you go along!
Next Week, we shall look at those milestones and how to check them and achieve them as you go along!
